All-new Vauxhall Combo based on Fiat Doblò
Following the signing of a contract agreement between Fiat and Opel/Vauxhall, the next generation Vauxhall Combo, due to replace the current model at the beginning of 2012, will be based on the Doblò platform. Not only that, the derivatives will be built at the same Tofas plant in Bursa, Turkey, with at least 250,000 units scheduled to be supplied. The Combo name will be retained, as will the two wheelbases and the trick Fiat independent rear suspension arrangement, and the all-new Combo will be available as a van, chassis cab and passenger car.
Opel/Vauxhall’s German design team is currently working closely with its Fiat counterparts in Turin to develop the new models.
Corsavan
Sticking with Vauxhall, the advent of an updated Corsa at the beginning of 2011 means that we can look forward to a new Corsavan shortly after the introduction.A re-designed front-end brings Corsa in line with other new Vauxhalls. The current ‘V’ grille is replaced by a chrome signature bar featuring the new Griffin badge and the headlamp units are all-new.
