Ashwoods eyes-up mainland Europe
Taking place in Berlin from 18 – 22 May, the Michelin Challenge Bibendum is showcasing low carbon and zero emission vehicles. Ashwoods Automotive is using the event to showcase its three main eco technologies to potential distributors, fleet customers and automotive partners in mainland Europe.Ashwoods was invited to attend as part of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership’s showcase of British Engineering Excellence and will be exhibiting on its stand as well as taking part in the eco-rally, event parade and offering Ride & Drive opportunities to visitors.
Ashwoods produces the Hybrid Transit. Its kinetic energy recovery system helps reduce fuel consumption, and hence CO2 emissions, by a claimed 15 – 25 per cent.
Through the development of Hybrid Transit, Ashwoods has produced a highly robust and cost-effective Battery Management System. This is suitable for a wide range of EV and hybrid vehicle applications and is marketed by its sister company, Ashwoods Energy. It’s also demonstrating EcoDrive+, an effective visual feedback system that works with a driver to get the best fuel consumption out of the vehicle and allows fleet managers to monitor each vehicle’s performance.
Mark Roberts, Managing Director of Ashwoods said: “We are looking forward to our first mainland European event. We have received a lot of interest in our low emission vehicles and hybrid components from the European market. The Michelin Challenge Bibendum is a highly regarded event and a fantastic place to do business.”
