Autoglass develops new glass repair resin
Vehicle glass repair and replacement specialist Autoglass is rolling out a stronger and longer-lasting windscreen repair resin (HPX3) across its UK network. The result of significant R&D investment by parent company Belron, it’s been tested for weathering by an independent research laboratory and the results show that it consistently outperforms rival repair products says the company.HPX3’s specifications include higher adhesion, better ageing, low shrinkage and better colour stability. These ensure a more durable repair that not only lasts the lifetime of the vehicle, but also lessens the risk of yellowing and shrinkage, which can result in the re-appearance of chips; a precursor for cracks developing.
“We are determined to deliver fast, superior, safe and high quality repairs every time and this new resin will provide real benefits for the motorist,” said Autoglass managing director Matthew Mycock. “We are continually striving to improve our service so that our customers, our insurance partners and their policyholders all benefit. Our new resin and the warranty we provide alongside it supports our research that on average, repairing a chip is ten times more environmentally friendly than replacing a windscreen.”
