Chilled-out couriers rely on Somers to deliver
Specialist food product couriers, BW Refrigerated Couriers has begun the process of switching all its panel van fleet over to Mercedes Sprinters, each specified with Somers ATP-certified refrigerated conversions.Through its vehicle replacement programme, BW has recently added another long-wheelbase and six medium-wheelbase Sprinters to its 20-strong fleet and they are all fitted with Somers refrigerated van conversions featuring GAH Super Rapier SR351F low temperature refrigeration systems. The twin-compartment bodies have been specified with a front frozen section that operates to -25°C while the rear chilled compartment can operate down to 0°C. The bodies are designed to handle up to 20 door openings per eight hour distribution cycle.
David Hake, BW’s managing director said: “From experience we know that, as part of the Paneltex Group, the Somers refrigerated conversions can handle our specific courier requirements, with the proven build quality easily lasting the planned four-year working life of our panel van fleet.”
