Coyote speed camera alert system comes to UK
The Roadrunner would have loved one of these. Used by over 600,000 drivers in mainland Europe, the Mini Coyote V2 has reached this side of the Channel. This dash-mounted gizmo is a real-time GPS-based speed, sorry, safety camera alert system that uses a constantly updated database of Europe’s 26,000 fixed and mobile camera locations. The screen shows drivers their actual speed, the current speed limit and alerts them of upcoming cameras. It also warns of schools, high-risk zones and Congestion Tax, sorry, Charge entry-points.
Not only that, it displays the average speed between cameras when driving in a SPECS-monitored zone. This is similar to the function on the PocketGPSWorld.com iPhone application. And speaking of iPhone Apps, Mini Coyote V2 is coming to the App Store soon.
It’s interactive with its users too. New camera sites can be uploaded at the touch of a button for the benefit of all subscribers.
The system is distributed in the UK by Cobra and costs £185, which includes three months’ service subscription, and then it’s £89 annually.
