Daily 7-tonner pitches up at PapaKåta
PapaKåta is in the business of supplying teepee-style Kåtas tents, pioneered by the Sami people of Lapland, for special events. It relied on 3.5 tonne vans and 4x4s with trailers for transportation, but it needed something with a greater payload; enter the 7.0 tonne Iveco Daily. The 176hp 70C80 Daily Crew Cab has a payload and body potential of 4.4 tonnes, as well being a seven-seater for additional versatility. It’s been fitted with a bespoke curtainside body provided by Martin Williams of Hull, making it ideal for transporting the teepees and function materials, such as staging, tables and chairs.
Supplied by North East Truck & Van, the Daily has been specified with a locking differential to aid traction when it leaves the tarmac; a common requirement when PapaKåta is setting-up and de-rigging for functions.
“The majority of our work is within about three hours’ drive of Yorkshire, but our expertise with teepees mean we can be booked for jobs across the UK and Ireland”, said joint managing director Richard Monaghan. The Daily gives us a versatile vehicle for eating up motorway mileage, plus with the manoeuvrability to position the vehicle precisely once we arrive on site.”
