Ford launches accident management programme
Ford’s new Accident Management Programme is designed to simplify communications between insurance companies and Ford’s repair network. It’s a free service for all new and used Ford vehicle owners — including light commercials — in the UK, regardless of the insurance company. By contacting a special hotline number, owners of a Ford involved in an accident can have repairs carried out at their nearest Ford Accident Repair Centre using genuine Ford parts fitted by Ford-trained technicians. Ford will take care of all the communications between the recovery and insurance companies, and the Repair Centre.
For businesses running several light commercials and they are not all Ford-badged, if a non-Ford vehicle is damaged in a collision then it will be sent to the relevant franchise dealer for repair.
Paul McDermott, Ford collision repair manager, said: “Ford's Accident Management Programme is great news for customers. It takes over many complex parts of the repair process such as contacting the insurance company, organising vehicle recovery and providing a courtesy vehicle, with a single phone call. Small fleets running five to 10 vans will like it the most, I suspect, because it takes away the hassle of dealing with the aftermath of an accident."
