Ford scores a century with Glendale
With Ford of Britain currently celebrating its centenary of selling vehicles in the UK, it’s fitting that long-time customer, grounds and countryside management services provider Glendale, has placed an order for 100 LCVs. To complete the century theme the dealer involved, Gordons of Bolton, just happens to be one of Ford’s oldest UK dealerships, having signed up in 1911.Originally the order was for 97 vehicles, but it would have been churlish for Glendale not to have joined in the anniversary celebrations.
Glendale’s latest acquisitions, which take it’s fleet to a total of 650 vehicles — 90 per cent of which are Ford — cover the entire LCV range and include Fiesta Van, Transit Connect, Transit and Ranger. Many have been converted for horticultural and arboricultural work.
“The team at Gordons Ford knows exactly what we require from our fleet, what specifications we need, and provide an excellent service to us through the life of a vehicle,” said Stuart Darbyshire, commercial director at Glendale. “The relationship between Glendale, Ford and Gordons spans many years and is testament to the quality of the product and the service they provide."
