Ford to unveil all-new Ranger at CV Show

Following its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March, Ford has confirmed the all-new Ranger will get its UK premiere at the CV Show in April. This is despite a November on-sale date.Apart from dramatic exterior styling, new Ranger comes with a choice of either a 150hp four cylinder 2.2-litre or 200hp five-cylinder 3.2-litre diesel powerplant. These develop 375Nm and 470Nm respectively.
Body configurations will mirror the current line-up and it will remain available with either two- or four-wheel drive. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard with an electronic semi-automatic six-speeder as an option.
Load length for the double cab is 1,549mm, it measures 1,139mm between the wheel boxes and the sidewalls are 511mm high. Payload and towing weight are dependent on model, but peak at 1,500kg and 3,350kg respectively.
The cab interior is designed to be functional as well as provide high levels of comfort and specifications will cater for a whole spectrum of users. Top spec models will feature all the modern electronic goodies normally found in executive saloon cars.
Ford’s new Ranger will be taking on Volkswagen’s Amarok head-to-head, as both manufacturers raise the humble pick-up to the next level.
