Hilux keeps EON moving in winter
Energy supplier E.ON has taken delivery of 12 Hilux 4x4 pick-ups to be used by its boiler repair and maintenance technicians. Supplied by Toyota World in Birmingham under a fleet partnership three-year agreement they were delivered to E.ON’s engineers at Toyota’s Manufacturing plant in Derby, and will be used throughout the UK. They have all been fitted with hardtops to protect and organise all the kit necessary for the job.“Being left without heating if your boiler fails this winter can be distressing and potentially life-threatening for our vulnerable customers,” commented John Neilson, E.ON’s technician manager. “Being equipped with the right vehicles to reach these customers no matter what the winter throws at us is vitally important.”
Fleet commercial vehicle manager, Lorna McAtear, said: “The most important issue for E.ON was that we sourced vehicles that had proved themselves in tough terrains and the harshest of winter weather balanced with offering the lowest possible carbon emissions. We think the Toyota Hilux fits the bill to allow us to reach our customers in need.”
