It's the GreenRoad for Balfour Beatty
Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions (BBUS) is to roll-out GreenRoad’s 360 driver safety and efficiency service across its 1,400-strong commercial vehicle fleet.
Designed to improve driver safety and fuel consumption the 360 system includes a small LED screen in the cab to provide real-time feedback to drivers of their on-the-road behaviour, flagging up such things as harsh acceleration, heavy braking and over-zealous cornering.
Drivers and their fleet managers can also review more detailed analyses into individual driver and fleet-wide driving behaviour via GreenRoad’s suite of online applications. These also include a detailed real-time mapping function.
Several BBUS depots have been trialling 360 and have seen a 60 per cent reduction in risk and up to a 10 per cent drop in fuel consumption. “Our fuel bill was £12m last year, so a 10 per cent reduction using GreenRoad represents a significant saving at the pumps,” said Brent Mitchell, head of support services for BBUS.
