Iveco Daily CNG helping to keep London clean

Iveco Daily CNG Natural PowerWaste management company Veolia has taken delivery of three Iveco Daily Natural Power vans for graffiti removal duties in the London Borough of Camden. Daily Natural Power LCVs feature purpose-built spark ignition engines which deliver performance comparable to a diesel in terms of power, torque and response. Another advantage is that they are approximately 50 per cent quieter than their diesel equivalents; ideal for night time operation.

Running on compressed natural gas (CNG) means they produce 12 per cent fewer NOx emissions, 76 per cent less particulate matter and up to 95 per cent less CO2 emissions using bio-methane. Re-fuelling will take place at Veolia’s brand new CNG facility situated at its Alperton depot, purpose-built to service Camden’s CNG fleet.

Powered by a 3.0-litre natural gas engine, the Daily Natural Power 35S14 produces 136hp and up to 350Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,730rpm. it requires no AdBlue, particulate filter or exhaust gas recirculation and needs no after-treatment system maintenance. Together with fuel costs around 20 per cent lower than diesel, this helps to reduce total cost of ownership and boost fleet efficiency.
