Luton Vivaro production reaches landmark
Over half a million Vivaros have rolled off the line at General Motors Manufacturing’s Luton Vauxhall/Opel plant in the last ten years. Production began in the spring of 2001 and this summer saw the 500,000th model leave the assembly line. It’s available as a panel van, double cab, chassis cab, dropside, combi and minibus, all of which can be modified to meet individual operator requirements in the plant’s own conversion centre. Vivaro can also be had badged as a Renault Trafic and Nissan Primastar.
“The Vivaro enjoys a huge success not only in the UK, but also in Europe. The van is built to high quality standards and ensures an economical and comfortable ride whilst offering an impressive and practical loading space,” said Mark Stein, Vauxhall’s Luton plant director.
Earlier this year Vauxhall received confirmation that the Luton plant would retain production of the next generation Vivaro, due to go on sale across Europe in 2014 (see News Story).
