Luton retains next generation Vivaro production
Opel/Vauxhall has confirmed that production of the Vivaro at its GMM plant in Luton will continue when the next generation models are launched in 2013. The news has come as a great relief to the workforce and suppliers alike. In production since 2001, Vivaro is the result of a long-standing joint-development deal between GM and the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The latter companies sell the same model as the Trafic and Primastar respectively.
As well as Luton, the new models will also be rolling off the lines at Renault’s facility in Sandouville, France, but there is no confirmation that they will continue to be built at Nissan’s plant in Barcelona, Spain.
