MINI Clubvan Concept set for Geneva debut
BMW-owned MINI is planning to unveil its all-new Clubvan Concept car-derived van at this year’s Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of March. The original Morris Mini Van was introduced in 1960 and the new concept follows firmly in its iconic footsteps.Based on a Clubman car with the rear seats removed and the side windows replaced by opaque body-coloured, polycarbonate sections, it features a cargo area optimised for space with a flat load floor boasting six integral load-tie rings. It’s separated from the cab by a half-height solid aluminium bulkhead, topped off by a mesh grille, and is fully fabric lined. Access is via either heavily tinted, glazed twin side-hinged rear doors or through the offside rear side door.
Whether the Clubvan will make it into showrooms any time soon is a moot point, but VansA2Z would like to think so; closely followed by a MINI Pick-up, naturally (watch the video to the end).
