Expensive compared to the competition, but makes a style statement, comes loaded with goodies as standard and drives like a dream; great 1.6-litre diesel.
BMW-owned MINI is taking its modernised range of the iconic car back to its roots and producing a light commercial version, based on the five-door Clubman, and harking back to the original 1960 Morris Mini Van.
The conversion to van will be undertaken in the UK and more details can be found here.
Access to the load area will be via either the twin side-hinged rear doors or the rear-hinged, rear side door situated on the offside. A full height mesh bulkhead and fully lined load area are standard features. Auto Start/Stop, Shift Point Display and Brake Energy Regeneration are also part of the package on all models — what it terms MINIMALISM features — and naturally the diesel is the most fuel efficient. It has an official combined cycle figure of 72.4mpg, which equates to CO2 emissions of 103g/km.
