MYVAN web site launched by Mercedes
Available in English and German, Merc’s new van-orientated MYVAN web site sets out to be a brand-neutral social media-related international platform. Operated by the business division of Mercedes-Benz Vans it’s linked to its own Facebook and Twitter pages, YouTube channel and has a dedicated Flickr feed.The main focus is to create high quality content that is produced either as video, photo galleries and/or text. User-generated content is also included. Site visitors can comment on the different articles either directly on the web site or on its social media channels. The goal is to provide visitors with news, trends and tips relating to the world of vans and commercial vehicles.
“With MYVAN and the mix of video and social media, we are responding to the paradigm shift in media usage and this will prepare us for the media convergence, the fusion of internet and television,” said Nicolai Berger, senior manager of marketing communication and product information at Mercedes-Benz Vans. “We also want MYVAN to be a first-mover in its competitive environment.”
So far the content is definitely Merc-centric, but as an example here is our current favourite video from the site.
