Mercedes X-Class pick-up open for reservations
Despite the fact that the production version has yet to be revealed, customers can reserve a new Mercedes-Benz X-Class, the company’s first foray into the one-tonne pick-up market, online with a £1,000 refundable deposit. Merc Vans says it launched the reservation service following phenomenal demand for the new pick-up which was previewed in concept form at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hannover last September.Based on the current Nissan Navara chassis, X-Class will be offered with a choice of Merc V6 or Nissan four-cylinder diesel power and the type of four-wheel drive system will be dependent on engine. Production-ready versions of the X-Class are due to be unveiled later in 2017 with sales commencing at the beginning of 2018.Steve Bridge, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Vans UK, said: “Many customers we have spoken to have a strong desire to be amongst the first to own the new X-Class, which is incredible considering that it hasn’t been unveiled yet!"
