Nissan’s first global light commercial, the NV200, has been voted the International Van of the Year for 2010 by a jury of specialist journalists from 23 European countries. The Jury was particularly impressed by the fact that Nissan has created a compact light commercial vehicle that sets new standards in terms of internal space in relation to the external dimensions,” said the official statement from the IVOTY Jury.
“We are delighted to receive the IVOTY 2010 award as the recognition of Nissan’s determination to create innovative light commercial vehicles that exceed customer expectations,” said Andy Palmer, Senior Vice President, Nissan Motor Co Ltd. “The NV200 is a global vehicle that associates unmatched levels of functionality with unique and attractive design. We offer our customers a vehicle that is an efficient and reliable business tool,” said Palmer. NV200 has a load length in excess of two metres, a load cube of 4.2m3 and a gross payload of 752kg. It’s powered by an 86hp 1.5-litre Renault turbodiesel (Renault is Nissan’s Alliance partner) with a CO2 rating of 137g/km. UK basic prices start at £11,850, including delivery.
