NV200 gets more power and six-speed ’box
Nissan’s space-efficient NV200 range of vans and combis has undergone a round of upgrades. A 110hp Euro 5 diesel, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, joins the engine line-up and all NV200’s will come with Bluetooth-connectivity as a standard fitment from 1 July.A development of the existing 85hp/200Nm 1.5-litre Euro 4 engine, the more powerful option develops peak torque of 240Nm at 1,750rpm. Five/seven-seater Combi versions get an 89hp Euro 5 upgrade to the current powerplant which will appear in the vans within the next few months.
Changes have also been made to NV200 van’s specification levels. Move up from the entry-level E models to SE trim and in addition to Bluetooth they benefit from a rearview camera system with a screen mounted in the instrument binnacle. A new SE n-tec trim (SE+ on Combis, minus the van’s reversing aid) adds the Nissan Connect sat nav and comms system, as well as cruise control which includes a driver-adjustable speed-limiter.Buyers of the top spec vans can also specify the new £600 (excl VAT) HI-TEC option package. This brings with it air con and Intelligent Key, a keyless entry and start system.
“We’ve been delighted by the success of the NV200 which has proved that a new van can make a big impression in an established market if it offers the right mix of innovation, quality and value,” said Nissan’s LCV sales and marketing director, Francis Bleasdale. “With significant range enhancements and a powerful new flagship engine, we look forward to even stronger demand for the NV200 over the coming months.”
