New Ranger Super Cab retains four-door access
When the all-new Ranger goes on sale in the UK in November it will be available as a Single, Super and Double Cab. The good news is that the Super configuration — known as the RAP (Rear Access Panel) in some other markets) will retain the rear-hinged, half-width rear doors of the current model. These provide excellent, pillarless, access to the rear compartment which can be used for additional, occasional seating for three or as a secure storage area for tools and equipment; or even for the dogs. Another big advantage of the Super Cab is the additional load length it supplies compared to the Double Cab, which some operators may find a bit short at 1,549mm. What we’re not sure of yet is whether chassis cab variants will be on sale in the UK, like they are in Australia where they are particularly popular.
Ford will also be delving into its technological goodie-box for its new pick-up range, making cutting-edge options like voice-controlled Bluetooth connectivity available.
