New generation Isuzu D-Max due Spring 2017
Isuzu UK has confirmed that deliveries of its new D-Max 4x4 pick-up will begin in the Spring — a little later than thought initially — and potential customers can now register their interest. Full pricing and specification details will be released closer to the on-sale date.D-Max gets a re-designed front-end and new cab interior, but the big news is under the bonnet. The current 163hp/400Nm 2.5-litre Euro 5 diesel has been replaced by a much more modern 164hp/360Nm 1.9-litre Euro 6 unit. We will have to wait and see if the drop in torque affects its ability adversely, but what we can say is that it does not require the addition of AdBlue to meet Euro 6 requirements. It retains the out-going generation’s on-the-fly electronic four-wheel drive selection, in excess of one tonne gross payload and 3.5t towing capability. As standard, D-Max comes with a five-year/125,000-mile warranty, five years recovery and European cover, a three-year paint warranty and six-year anti-corrosion cover. Service intervals for the new engine are 12,000 miles or every two years.
