Our Verdict
Previewed at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show, Nissan's replacement for the Interstar range of large panel vans and chassis cabs is due to go on sale in the UK in November 2011.
Originally unveiled at the Hanover Commercial Vehicle Show in 2010, Nissan’s replacement for the ageing Interstar, the NV400, took pride of place on its stand at the UK’s CV Show last April.
Based on a platform shared with Alliance partner Renault, which sells it as the Master, the NV400 has a heavily restyled and very distinctive front-end. Vauxhall also markets it as the Movano.
The work to differentiate NV400 from its close relatives was carried out at Nissan Design Europe in Paddington, London. The necessary re-engineering was undertaken at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.
NV400 goes on sale in the UK this autumn and will be powered by the same 2.3-litre Euro 5 diesels as Master and Movano. It will be available as a front- or rear-wheel drive van and a range of chassis cabs and factory-fitted conversions will follow soon after the initial launch.
A full Nissan NV400 Review & Buyers' Guide will be published when the NV400 goes on sale in the UK.
