One-stop conversion range from Iveco
Iveco has reintroduced its DriveAway Options programme of the most popular pre-bodied 3.5 tonne chassis and chassis crew cab conversions, based on the recently launched new generation Daily. They will be available from all Iveco dealers and are expected to become available in the next couple of months. The move is in response to increased demand from customers for ready-bodied vehicles in light of the upcoming introduction of whole vehicle type approval legislation; it kicks-in for most categories of new conversions at the end of October 2012. The initial range will include Dropsides, Tippers and Luton bodies.
The main advantage of this type of approach — one taken by the majority of van manufacturers — is that there is one point of contact, the dealership, rather than two or three companies involved. The result is significantly shorter delivery times, lower cost and better residual values as they are a know quantity. DriveAway products are also covered by a three-year/unlimited mileage whole vehicle warranty.
Short-, medium- and long-wheelbase three- and six-seater Dropsides, SWB chassis cab or MWB chassis crew cab Tippers, as well as three-seater Lutons on all wheelbases are on offer. Prices will be announced closer to the on-sale date.Martin Flach, Iveco UK’s product director, said: “We’re focusing the DriveAway Options programme on the 3.5 tonne market initially, but we hope to grow the range of vehicles included in the programme over the coming months. This new turnkey solution essentially means an operator can walk into their local dealership and drive away in a bodied vehicle that same day.”
