Real-world CO2 emissions courtesy of Trakm8
Following research undertaken in conjunction with the Technology Strategy Board and Imperial College London, Trakm8 claims to be the only telematics supplier to accurately monitor the actual amount of CO2 emitted by a vehicle, and not rely on the official estimates. Its algorithm uses many different parameters by connecting directly into a vehicle’s various ECUs via the CANbus.
Commenting on this latest innovation John Watkins, CEO of Trakm8 said: “For green-thinking fleet managers, CO2 is increasingly becoming a major factor in determining which LCV to purchase. Using our own algorithm, we can accurately measure the amount of CO2 each van in a fleet produces, and identify areas that can be adapted to reduce the amount of CO2 being emitted.”
It will be demonstrating its latest CO2-measuring software at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Hall 4 on stand C50, along with its fuel consumption-lowering T8 hardware and SWIFT web portal.
