Our Verdict

Korando CSX is the smallest 4x4 van available in the UK, which makes it a unique proposition.

korando-csx-2012-news2SsangYong has developed a light commercial version of its five-door Korando SX four-wheel drive hatchback. That takes its LCV tally to three, joining the Korando Sport pick-up and Rexton car-derived van. Power comes from a 149hp 2.0-litre turbodiesel which develops a very respectable 360Nm of peak torque.

Access to the 1.3m3 load area is via either a tailgate or two side-hinged rear side doors. It features a flat load floor 1,525mm in length and measuring 965mm between the wheel boxes. An optional bulkhead will be available shortly. Gross payload is 433kg and it can tow a braked trailer up to two tonne.

Specification is high with roof rails, tinted glass, rear parking sensors, leather-covered steering wheel and gearknob and cruise control all standard features. Additionally, it comes fitted with a Kenwood radio/CD/MP3 player with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, remote audio controls and six speakers.
