Thirty minutes of fame for White Van Man
Tonight sees Channel 5 air the first episode of a new six-part documentary series at 20.00. White Van Man showcases the life and work of Britain’s independent tradesmen.A selection of white van chaps have been filmed as they look at new ways of making money using their white vans. One of the highlights, and tonight’s episode, is East Londoner Jim, who drives an ‘old crapper’ Ford Transit. Used to doing general metalwork, Jim embarks on a new project; building a human-shaped cage to go in a BDSM dungeon.
“I’m happy to make torture devices for anyone,” says Jim of his new project. Another pair of white van owners strip off for a 2011 calendar as a new way of making money.
