Transit Custom high roof comes on-line

ford-transit-custom-2013-high-roof-cvshow1Ford has opened the order book for high roof versions of its new multi award-winning one tonne Transit Custom. Production is scheduled for October with customer deliveries beginning before the end of the year. High roof Custom was premiered at the 2013 CV Show and features full height rear doors and normal height sliding side doors.

Available as a £500 (excl VAT) option on short- and long-wheelbase models the high roof increases the internal load height by 372mm, taking it to 1,778mm; that’s 33mm more than the medium roof model it replaces. Load volume increases from 6.0m3 to 7.2m3 on the SWB while the LWB high roof provides 8.3m3; up from 6.8m3. Gross payload is up too compared with an equivalent low roof model; by 47kg for SWB and 49kg on LWB variants.

Ford has also added a few more options to the price list. Satellite Navigation in now available on Base models for £1,000 (all prices excl VAT) as part of ICE Pack 11, a glazed full steel bulkhead can be had for £60 and Base spec Vans can be specified with a ‘Less Bulkhead’ ladder frame alternative for £50. Additional load tie-down rings are now available on Base and Trend Vans, and Base, Trend and Limited Double Cab-in-Vans for £25 while a DIN-sized Roof Console is available on Base Van, DCIV and Kombi variants for £50.
