Transit SportVan on steroids gains Superpower
It’s common knowledge that Ford is unveiling the all-new Ranger, the Transit Connect Electric and the Euro 5 Transit at the Commercial Vehicle Show, but out of the blue it’s come up with a show-stopper; the SuperSportVan.Based on a regular front-wheel drive 260 Transit SportVan, Ford has installed its 200hp, 470Nm 3.2-litre five-cylinder powerplant and added the ‘Super’ prefix for a one-off concept to gauge public opinion. If there’s enough interest, despite being in an eco-obsessed era, it could become a short-run reality.
It’s basically a Transit SportVan on steroids with the addition of custom-designed 19in alloy wheels and who knows what sort of power and torque can be achieved with some astute ‘chipping’. We can’t wait to have a go in it.
