British Gas is to take delivery of in excess of 400 new Transits and 60 feature Ford’s automatic AWD four-wheel drive system. They will be distributed strategically to enable engineers to attend emergencies in parts of the country susceptible to really bad winter weather conditions.This latest order means the fleet encompasses well over 1,000 Transits and the new vans will all sport the latest British gas livery.
“We have been using Ford Transits for several years now and they are proving very reliable,” commented Colin Marriott, general manager of the British Gas fleet. “Ford offers well-engineered vans combined with great aftersales service, making them the best option for our expanding fleet.”
