VW adds five-seater Kombi to Caddy line-up
Launched towards the end of 2010, the all-new Volkswagen Caddy range has expanded to include a five-seater Kombi version of the long-wheelbase Maxi van for a basic price of £14,450 (excl VAT). Featuring glass in both the sliding side doors, but with steel rear side panels, the Kombi is registered as a light commercial and VAT is fully reclaimable. VW has also added a five-seater high specification passenger car version of the standard Caddy, the Life, with full glazing.
The Kombi’s rear seating can be folded forwards easily, expanding the 1.6m3 load area to 3.9m3. Remove the seating all together and this rises to 4.1m3. A rear tailgate is fitted as standard, but asymmetrical side-hinged rear doors are available as a no-cost option.
Powered by a 102hp 1.6-litre TDI diesel, Kombi comes with a five-speed manual transmission, but the excellent seven-speed twin-clutch DSG ’box can be specified as an option.
