VW completes Crafter engine line-up
Announced at launch, but not available initially, Volkswagen has introduced a second twin-turbo 2.0BiTDI diesel to its 2012 Crafter panel van, chassis cab and chassis crew cab range. Capable of producing maximum power of 141hp it develops peak torque of 340Nm, available from 1,575rpm to 2,250rpm. When equipped with the optional BlueMotion technology — due to arrive in the UK this summer — the Crafter panel van has a quoted combined cycle fuel consumption of 36.2mpg, equivalent to CO2 emissions of 205g/km.
This latest addition completes the existing engine line-up of 109hp TDI, 136hp TDI and 163hp BiTDI turbodiesels which develop peak torque of 300Nm, 340Nm and 400Nm respectively.
