Vans are an essential part of the automotive and economic landscapes, but more often than not the operators and drivers are perceived in a bad light. In the vast majority of cases it is unjustified and VansA2Z gives its full support to any initiative working to dispel the 'White Van Man' myth.
Van Excellence is a voluntary code of practice aimed at companies running fleets of vans; whatever the size. Organised and run by the Freight Transport Association it is an industry-led scheme to enhance standards of van operator compliance, celebrates operators who demonstrate excellence and represents the interests of the van industry as a whole.
Operators can apply for accreditation to the scheme — there is a charge involved to cover admin costs etc — which involves an independent audit and on the successful completion of the process the organisation is enrolled in the Van Excellence programme.
Organisations can also apply to become Van Excellence Partners. These are companies that promote the Code of Van Excellence among their customers and encourage its standards to be adopted and followed across the entire light commercial vehicle sector.
